Privacy Policy
Effective September 17, 2026
RoleplayLab is a Google Meet add-on and companion website operated by
Scott Lininger ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the
service handles and why. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Google account basics. When you install or use the
add-on, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us
so other people at your table can see who you are. We request no other
Google data.
- Meeting identifiers. Google Meet gives the add-on the
current meeting's id and meeting code. We use them to connect everyone in
the same call to the same session. We do not receive audio, video, chat, or
the list of participants from Meet.
- Session data. Things you do inside a session, such as
character details, dice rolls, and notes, are stored so the group can see
them. This data is stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Realtime
Database) on Google Cloud servers.
- Sign-in records. The website may sign you in
anonymously or with your Google account through Firebase Authentication, which
keeps the identifiers needed to recognize you next time.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no advertising trackers.
- No analytics services that profile you.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your information with third parties,
other than the Google infrastructure listed above that hosts the service.
How long we keep it
Session data is kept so your group can return to it. You can ask us to
delete your account data and any sessions you own at any time by emailing
the address below, and we will do so within 30 days.
Google API Services
RoleplayLab's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will change and the new
version will be posted at this address.
