Google Meet add-on
RoleplayLab adds a shared stage to your Meet call: scenes with art and music, character roles, Story Cards, 3D dice and shared documents, right beside the video. 100% Free!
Not on Google Meet? Run the same stage in any browser. Make a link, send it to your players, and talk over whatever voice chat your group already uses. No install and no account.
Everything on the stage is shared, so the whole table sees it at once.
Change the background, music and ambience for everyone with one click.
Players pick a role, and their portrait joins the tray at the bottom of the stage.
Deal prompt cards to the table to build a story together.
Roll with a description, like "Perception 1d20", and everyone sees the result over your tile.
Character sheets, maps and notes that the whole table can edit at the same time.
The Game Master's controls for scenes, music, ambience and the look of the stage.
Ready-made games for popular genres, each with scenes, music, roles and art you can change. Until they arrive, the Trinity sample game is in every game's menu under Templates.
RoleplayLab was started by me, Scott, during the COVID pandemic. I wanted to game with distant friends in an easy way. I tried the common VTT systems and found they didn't support "theatre of the mind" quite like I'd hoped. Fast forward a few years, and it's finally solid enough to share.
RoleplayLab is a passion project. It doesn't make a dime, so I hope you'll forgive the bugs you find, and please let me know about them!
If you run into any trouble, visit the support page. Thanks for checking it out!
What it collects: in Meet, your Google account name and email and the meeting code, so everyone in the call joins the same table; with a game link, only the name you type. The details are in the privacy policy.
Send this link to your table. Anyone who opens it joins the game.
Save this link somewhere safe: it's the only way back to your game. Use any voice chat while you play.
